FUNCTIONAL NUTRITIONAL PRACTITIONER • PERSONAL TRAINER • NELSON, BC

Emily Enright

I work at the intersection of clinical nutrition, functional movement, and how people actually live, to help them understand their bodies and build from the root up.

Most practitioners treat the symptom in front of them. I'm more interested in what created it.

Whether someone comes to me with a gut that hasn't worked properly in years, a body that's stuck in pain, or a training plateau they can't explain — the starting point is always the same. What is the body actually doing, and why? That question drives every protocol I build, every program I write, and every conversation I have with a client.

HOW I WORK

Three principles that shape everything I do.

01

Root cause, not symptoms

Symptoms are information. I don't suppress them,  I follow them back to where they started. The root is where the real work happens, and where lasting change is possible.

02

Education, not dependency

You leave every session understanding your body better than when you arrived. The goal is never to keep you reliant on me, it's to build your capacity to make better decisions independently.

03

Precision over volume

I work with a small number of clients at any given time. Not because I can't scale — because depth of care matters more than throughput. Your protocol is built for you, not adapted from a template.

A BIT ABOUT ME

Why I do this work

I came to this work through my own experience of not having answers. Years of being told that what I was feeling was normal, or manageable, or something to push through — until I found practitioners who looked deeper and helped me understand what was actually happening in my body.

That experience shaped how I work. I know what it feels like to be dismissed, to not be believed, and to finally find something that actually addresses the root. That's the standard I hold myself to and what I bring to every client I work with.

I moved to Nelson, BC in 2024. I work at the Nelson Boxing Club as a strength and conditioning coach, train clients in person and remotely, and run a functional nutrition practice alongside it. The three pillars — Nutrition, Movement, Lifestyle — aren't separate offerings. They're the same work.

WHAT WORKING WITH ME LOOKS LIKE

What you can expect from every engagement

01

A full picture first

Nothing gets built before I understand your history, your goals, and what your body is actually doing. Every intake is thorough  because shortcuts in this step cost time later.

02

Everything explained

You'll know why we're doing what we're doing. Not just the protocol — the mechanism behind it. Understanding your body is part of the work, not a bonus.

03

Protocols that evolve

Your body changes as we work together. Your protocol changes with it. Follow-up sessions exist to adjust, not just to check boxes.

04

Direct access

For ongoing clients — direct access via the client portal between sessions. Questions don't wait until the next appointment

If this approach resonates — let's talk.

Book a free 15-minute consult and tell me what you're working with. I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit and what I'd recommend as a starting point.
